FTTx Training for Installers and Technicians

This fibre optic training course has been developed with classroom lectures and hands-on skills labs to provide practical understanding and skills required to install, test, and troubleshoot PON and active Ethernet FTTx systems according to ITU, IEEE, and SCTE standards. Students will perform bidirectional testing, WDM testing, and splitter testing with the latest FTTx test equipment such as PON power meters and optical time-domain reflectometers.

Fibre Optic Test & Measurement Workshop

This workshop provides the basic information and practical experience required to carry out routine fibre optic testing and measuring. This includes testing of point-to-point fibre optic cabling systems and FTTH systems using splitters in typical PON configurations.

Introduction to FTTx Course

Attendees will gain a broad base of knowledge and familiarity with FTTx architecture, network design, deployment technology, and some operational skills in this this introductory course. It features 14 hours of classroom lectures with an experienced FTTx facilitator. An attendance certificate will be issued to attendees upon completion of the course.

Certified Optical Network Associate (CONA)

This 5 day course is an in-depth an introduction to optical networking and the types of systems that are in widespread commercial deployment. It teaches you how to design, plan and implement cost-effective optical networks. It focuses on networks that use either single channel per fibre, or multiple channels using CWDM and DWDM technology, providing typically up to 10 or 25Gb/s per channel and up to 80 channels per fibre. You will learn what is required for satisfactory system performance of such networks and how the performance can be affected by the properties and the quality of the physical fibre infrastructure including such issues as attenuation, chromatic dispersion and polarisation mode dispersion (PMD).
