When you move into your new home you want it to reflect who you are and blend in with your lifestyle. And you want the various rooms to have a character thats as much their own as it is yours. And rooms you will be spending alot of time in should not only reflect you but be set up in such a way that you look forward to being there.

The kitchen is probably the room that has the most traffic and where family mambers will spend alot of their time. Preparing meals should not be a chore, but if you find yourself peeling potatoes in a room that doesn't bring you any joy it will no doubt show in what you produce. Building and renovating are a costly time consuming exercise so changing your mind and rebuilding a few months down the line are out of the question.

Things to remember when planning your new kitchen:

You want to have as much natural light coming in as possible

Do you want seperate areas: cooking and prep, washing up, storage and will you kitchen be able to accomodate this?

Will you enertain in your kitchen which is the current trend

What is access to the kitchen like? How many doors, and how wide

Do you think open space leading to the dining table will suit you?

What kind of surfaces do you want?

All of these are considerations when you are designing your kitchen. One other thing to keep in mind is that whatever you decide on is that the kitchen will need to be installed.
